Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 8.2% on Sunday, July 23

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 8.2% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 980,578 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,568 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 33,967 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 966,225 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decline of 8.6% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 23.2% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 22.7% and 14.7%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,776 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 19,129 megawatt-hours.
