Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 7.1% on June 23

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 7.1% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 873,079 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,522 megawatt-hours at 10.00 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,754 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 864,155 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 7.2% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 22.6% of total generation, while hydroelectricity and wind plants contributed 16.2% and 13.6%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 8,045 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,922 megawatt-hours.
