Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 6.5% on June 13

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 6.5% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 938,253 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,162 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,957 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 941,736 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of 6.7% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 27.2% of total generation, while wind and solar power plants contributed 16.3% and 14.4%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 7,185 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,495 megawatt-hours.
