Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 6.42% on July 15

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 6.42% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,065,815 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,948 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity consumption dropped to the lowest level of 36,238 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,064,543 megawatt-hours on Wednesday marking a fall of about 6.8% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 21.2% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power plants contributed 19.1% and 17.7%, respectively.

On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 9,012 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 6,587 megawatt-hours.
