June 21, 2026 4:35 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 5.4% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 953,388 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,298 megawatt-hours at 2 p.m. local time (1100 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,297 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 961 bin 558 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of about 5.3% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 27.6% of total generation, while solar and wind power contributed 16.4% and 16.1%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 10,177 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,031 megawatt-hours.
