Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 5.3% on June 27

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 5.3% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,043,109 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,685 megawatt-hours at 2 p.m. local time (1100 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 35,810 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,048,785 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of about 4.3% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 23.2% of total generation, while wind and solar power contributed 19.6% and 16.9%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 9,653 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,111 megawatt-hours.
