December 7, 2025 12:56 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 5.1% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 942,649 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,508 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,233 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 952,073 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking an fall of 4.8% compared to Friday.
Electricity production from imported coal accounted for around 23.5% of total generation, while natural gas plants and wind energy plants contributed 22.6% and 15%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 9,606 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 186 megawatt-hours.
