Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 4% on Nov. 9

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye declined by 4.16% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 927,032 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,142 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,302 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 906,440 megawatt-hours on Saturday marking a fall of 3.64% compared to Friday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 26.6% of total generation, while wind plants and natural gas contributed 16.3% and 14.9%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 18,073 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 57 megawatt-hours.
