August 11, 2024 2:41 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 4.8% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,075,381 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 50,244 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,294 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,073,228 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of 5% compared to Friday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 22.7% of total generation, while imported coal plants and wind plants contributed 22.2% and 12.7%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 12,943 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 15,054 megawatt-hours.
