Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 4.4% on June 14

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye declined by 4.4% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,053,800 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 51,414 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 34,852 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,041,910 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a drop of 4.5% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 21.4% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectricity plants contributed 18.7% and 18.4%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,349 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,256 megawatt-hours.
