Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 3.15% on Friday, July 28

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye declined by 3.15% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,082,563 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 50,852 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 36,227 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 1,073,124 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 3.36% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 26.3% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 21.1% and 14.5%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,601 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 16,040 megawatt-hours.
