January 2, 2024 7:00 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 2% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 706,951 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 36,407 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 24,442 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 702,243 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a decrease of 1.3% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 23.6% of total generation, while hydroelectricity plants and lignite plants contributed 22.7% and 17.4%, respectively.
On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,914 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 8,622 megawatt-hours.
