July 6, 2024 8:09 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye declined by 2.3% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,058,506 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 50,639 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 34,817 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,053,127 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a drop of 2.5% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 25% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectricity plants contributed 21.5% and 14.3%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,158 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 10,483 megawatt-hours.
