December 18, 2023 6:09 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 13.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 787,292 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,564 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,783 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 774,369 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 13.9% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 20.6% of total generation, while wind plants and imported coal plants contributed 20.5% and 19.4% respectively.
On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,190 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 18,113 megawatt-hours.
