Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 12.3% on Sept. 22

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 12.3% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 759,530 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 35,978 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 26,087 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT)

Electricity production amounted to 763,980 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 11.7% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 25.4% of total generation, while wind and lignite plants contributed 16.3% and 15.2%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 16,660 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 12,244 megawatt-hours.
