Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 11.6% on Dec. 10

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 11.6% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 788,829 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,476 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,781 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 777,792 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of around 11.8% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 27.7% of total generation, while hydroelectricity plants and lignite plants contributed 18.4% and 14.5%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,216 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,056 megawatt-hours.
