April 29, 2024 6:46 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 11.6% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 771,076 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,256 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 26,857 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 867,189 megawatt-hours on Sunday marking a decrease of 11.9% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 19.7% of total generation, while wind and lignite plants contributed 19% and 12.8%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,251 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 10,706 megawatt-hours.
