Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 11.3% on Oct. 13

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 11.3% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 751,408 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 36,360 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 26,376 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT)

Electricity production amounted to 759,271 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 11.6% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 27.9% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite plants contributed 14.8% and 14.6%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 11,052 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 3,189 megawatt-hours.
