Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 10.8% on Dec. 3

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 10.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 768,506 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 36,775 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,181 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 764,282 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a drop of around 10.3% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from wind plants constituted 22.1% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectricity plants contributed 21.2% and 15.9%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,509 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,733 megawatt-hours.
