Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 1% on Nov. 8

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye declined by 1% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 927,032 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,563 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,400 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 940,755 megawatt-hours on Friday marking a fall of 1% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 25.3% of total generation, while natural gas and wind plants contributed 19.3% and 14.5%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 14,789 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 1,066 megawatt-hours.
