August 17, 2024 2:39 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.93% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,142,999 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 55,485 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 37,432 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,139,185 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an decrease of 1.76% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 21% of total generation, while imported coal plants and wind plants contributed 19.6% and 16.6%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 13,674 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,521 megawatt-hours.
