Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 1.76% on July 24

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.76% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,187,318 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 57,139 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 39,046 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,196,791 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an decrease of 1.78% compared to Tuesday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 26.5% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectricity plants contributed 19.8% and 14.8%, respectively.

On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 14,274 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 4,803 megawatt-hours.
