Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 1.5% on Sept. 24

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.5% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 991,704 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,587 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,277 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,011,802 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a fall of about 1.4% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dammed hydro plants accounted for around 23.2% of total generation, while imported coal and solar plants contributed 21.2% and 14%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 20,995 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 959 megawatt-hours.
