Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 1.39% on Aug. 25

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye declined by 1.39% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,101,112 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,480 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,754 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,094,718 megawatt-hours on Friday marking a decrease of 1.39% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from imported natural gas plants constituted 32.6% of total generation, while imported coal plants and wind power plants contributed 20.1% and 11.5% respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,060 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 12,454 megawatt-hours.
