Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 1.31% on Saturday, August 11

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.31% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,067,065 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,891 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 36,299 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 1,054,601 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 1.90% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 26.3% of total generation, while imported coal plants and wind plants contributed 22.4% and 12.1%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,408 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 16,872 megawatt-hours.
