February 1, 2024 7:32 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.06% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,023,462 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,748 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,072 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,016,138 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a drop of 1.17% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 21% of total generation, while hydroelectricity plants and wind plants contributed 20.4% and 19%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,851 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 3,299 megawatt-hours.
