Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 0.9% on Dec. 14

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 0.9% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 909,454 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,017 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,143 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 898,541 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a decrease of around 1.04% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from wind plants constituted 20.14% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectricity plants contributed 20.13% and 18.5%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 7,329 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 18,244 megawatt-hours.
