October 11, 2024 3:04 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 0.8% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 890,215 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,349 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,071 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT)
Electricity production amounted to 900,058 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a fall of 0.9% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from import coal plants constituted 25.9% of total generation, while natural gas and hydropower plants contributed 24.2% and 12.9%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 14,064 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 4,269 megawatt-hours.
