Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 0.8% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 909,278 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,753 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,299 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 920,810 megawatt-hours on Thursday marking an decrease of 1% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 21% of total generation, while wind and solar plants contributed 20.8% and 11%, respectively.
On Thursday the country’s electricity exports amounted to 12,928 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 1,482 megawatt-hours.
