Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 0.8% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 961,779 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,633 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,265 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 963,186 megawatt-hours on Thursday marking a fall of 1.1% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 22 % of total generation, while hydroelectricity plants and imported coal plants contributed 14.1% and 14 %, respectively.
On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 11,889 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 10,497 megawatt-hours.
