July 13, 2024 3:15 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 0.63% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,137,329 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 55,074 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 37,069 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,141,121 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 0.61% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24.6% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectricity plants contributed 19.9% and 16.4%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,406 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 2,437 megawatt-hours.
