Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 0.6% on Oct. 9

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 0.6% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 942,559 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,132 megawatt-hours at 10 a.m. local time (0700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,828 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 949,988 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of about 0.7% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dammed dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 22.4% of total generation, while imported coal and solar contributed 20.8% and 15.7%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 7,949 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 651 megawatt-hours.
