Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 0.11% on Sept. 5

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 0.11% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,052,385 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,276 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,836 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,050,947 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a decline of 0.11% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24.4% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectricity plants contributed 23% and 13.7%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 15,958 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,421 megawatt-hours.
