Türkiye’s Borsa Istanbul up at weekly open

ISTANBUL 

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,521.17 points on Monday, up by 0.18%, or 4.61 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 0.21% to 2,516.56 points at Friday’s close, with a daily trading volume of 28.5 billion liras ($1.6 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 17.7994 as of 10.03 a.m. local time (0703GMT) from 17.7220 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 17.1495 from 18.1290, while a British pound traded for 21.3426 Turkish liras, down from 21.4220 at the previous close.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $97.48 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,723.35.
