Türkiye takes part in UN tourism assembly in Saudi Arabia

ANKARA 

Türkiye took part in the 26th UN Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the country represented by Nadir Alpaslan, the deputy culture and tourism minister.

Held on Sunday and Monday under the theme “AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future,” the assembly focused on digital transformation, sustainability, and inclusive growth in the tourism sector.

Representatives from more than 160 countries attended to discuss strategic decisions shaping the next 50 years of global tourism.

As part of the assembly, a declaration was adopted establishing the first global framework for the ethical, fair, and sustainable use of artificial intelligence in tourism.

On the sidelines, Alpaslan held bilateral meetings with tourism officials from Angola, Albania, Venezuela, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Niger to discuss opportunities for collaboration, joint projects, and sustainable tourism policies.
