The Center for Combating Disinformation of the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications on Wednesday refuted a claim that “Türkiye will be provided with the foreign currency it needs in exchange for the evacuation of 750,000 Gazans” as the Israeli-Palestine conflict, which flared up on Oct. 7, continues.

“The claim that ‘The US and Israel are negotiating with the Gulf countries, Egypt and Türkiye, to evacuate the people of Gaza in exchange for a halt to the conflict. Türkiye will be provided with the foreign currency it needs in exchange for the evacuation of 750,000 Gazans’ is not true,” the center said in a post on its official account on X.

“Under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Türkiye continues to exert its utmost endeavors to halt the heavy bombardment of the Gaza Strip immediately, protect the lives of civilians, ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and prevent the displacement of civilians in the Gaza Strip,” it added.

“We firmly reject any approach that seeks to displace civilians in Gaza. Unfounded claims should not be given credit,” the center concluded the post that also featured the “#FakeNews” tag at its end.
