Türkiye has frozen the assets of eight Daesh/ISIS and al-Qaeda terrorist organization affiliates, according to the Official Gazette on Tuesday.
The Turkish Treasury and Finance Ministry prepared the decision on freezing assets which entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette.
The assets of eight terror affiliates were frozen based on the existence of reasonable grounds for “financing of terrorism.”
In 2013, Türkiye became one of the first countries to declare Daesh/ISIS a terrorist organization.
The country has since been attacked by the terror group multiple times, with over 300 people killed and hundreds more injured in at least 10 suicide bombings, seven bomb attacks, and four armed assaults.
In response, Türkiye launched anti-terror operations at home and abroad to prevent further attacks.
