July 27, 2023 2:52 pmThe daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 2.13% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, reaching a new record high of 1,129,423 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 54,269 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 36,695 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production reached 1,120,321 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of 2.23% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 29.8% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 21.1% and 16.8%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,522 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 15,626 megawatt-hours.
