Türkiye daily power consumption up 13.6% on Monday, July 17

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 13.6% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,043,146 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 50,449 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,641 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 1,033,326 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 14% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 23% of total generation, while hydroelectric plants and natural gas plants contributed 16.3% and 16% respectively.

On Monday the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,361 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 15,716 megawatt-hours.
