July 22, 2023 7:27 amThe daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 0.54% on Friday compared to the previous day, reaching a new record high of 1,104,626 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,319 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 36,074 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production reached 1,096,038 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an increase of 0.68% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.9% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 21.6% and 16.5%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,399 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 14,986 megawatt-hours.
