Türkiye daily power consumption down 7.4% on Sunday, July 16

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 7.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 918,336 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,600 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,927 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 906,224 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decline of 7.5% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 22.7% of total generation, while wind plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 18.7% and 17.2%, respectively.

On Sunday the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,500 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 16,612 megawatt-hours.
