November 24, 2025 10:15 amTürkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced Monday that they have reached an agreement with Antonella Bassani, vice president of the Europe and Central Asia Region at the World Bank, to begin work on a financing package amounting to an initial $6 billion.
“This financing will be used for the high-voltage electricity transmission investments we plan to implement as we move toward our 2035 renewable energy target of reaching 120,000 megawatts of installed wind and solar capacity,” Bayraktar said in a post on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
He also noted that during the meeting, they also discussed cooperation opportunities in areas such as renewable energy, nuclear, and natural gas.
