Turkish TV series are garnering the interest of young people in Venezuela.
This year, 180 people registered online for Turkish courses at the Yunus Emre Institute in the Venezuelan capital Caracas.
Yohari Olivares, who works in an advertising firm, told Anadolu that she chose Turkish as a second language and started learning it at the center.
Olivares, 32, said she has never visited Türkiye but loves Turkish TV series. “I have always been interested in Turkish, it is a difficult language, but I like learning it,” she added.
Argelia Velasquez said she started learning Turkish because she worked in Türkiye’s Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (Musiad) office in Venezuela.
“I saw Turkish TV series while my aunt was watching them, and I enjoyed them very much… I need to learn Turkish, it will be useful for me,” she added.
Carlos Capiello, who came to Türkiye to study theology and could not continue after staying for a year, said that he did not want to forget the Turkish he learned.
“Turkish culture and Turkish TV series attract my attention. I watched Resurrection: Ertugrul, it was very enjoyable,” he said, adding that he had many Turkish friends who inspired him by their hospitality.
