The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 9,961.34 points, increasing 1.33% from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index, starting the year at 9,858.10, gained 130.78 points from the close on Tuesday — last day of 2024.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,826.97, while the daily high was 9,961.34.
Gaining over 31% in 2024, the index was up from 7,470.18 points at the end of 2023.
The total transaction volume reached 105.77 billion Turkish liras ($3.62 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.75 trillion liras ($247.95 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 35.3010 as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 36.4350, and the GBP/TRY traded at 43.7010.
The price of gold was $2,653.55 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $76.25.
