ANKARA

Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus will travel Sunday to Indonesia to attend the 9th Meeting of Parliament Speakers of MIKTA.

Kurtulmus will participate in the meeting in Jakarta from Nov. 19 to 21.

A joint statement by MIKTA parliament speakers will be published at the end of the meeting.

Kurtulmus will also attend a reception hosted by Indonesian President Joko Widodo in honor of parliament speakers during his visit.

Additionally, he will hold bilateral meetings and meet Turkish graduates at the Yunus Emre Institute.

Established in 2013, MIKTA is an intercontinental informal consultation and coordination platform named after the initials of member countries: Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Türkiye, and Australia.

MIKTA aims to foster closer collaboration and coordination among member countries with G20 and other leading international organizations, as well as enhance relations between the participating nations.

These five countries, being effective actors in their regions, consistently pursue similar and constructive approaches to regional-global peace and stability, while also contributing significantly to international issues.
