Turkish intelligence chief holds talks with Hamas leader in Qatar

ANKARA

Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) chief Ibrahim Kalin on Sunday met with Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas movement’s Political Bureau, and his delegation in the Qatari capital of Doha, according to security sources.

Security sources said during the meeting, Ismail Haniyeh expressed satisfaction with Türkiye’s efforts in the negotiation process with Israel.

They also discussed the current state of negotiations, ongoing efforts for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, the primary responsibility for achieving a cease-fire lying with Israel, and the issue of allowing more humanitarian aid to be delivered.
