Turkish foreign minister holds talks with Swedish, Turkmen counterparts: Sources

ANKARA

The Turkish foreign minister held on Thursday separate phone calls with his Swedish and Turkmenistan counterparts to address multilateral issues, according to diplomatic sources.

Hakan Fidan and Tobias Billstrom discussed Sweden’s NATO membership process, preparations for the subsequent meetings of the Permanent Joint Mechanism between Türkiye, Sweden, and Finland, and Türkiye-EU relations.

With Rashid Meredov, Fidan underlined the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in all areas, particularly in energy and civil aviation, and discussed opportunities for cooperation on multilateral platforms.
