Turkish defense minister meets Syrian officials in Ankara

ANKARA

Türkiye’s Defense Minister Yasar Guler met several Syrian officials in Ankara on Wednesday, the National Defense Ministry said in a statement shared on Turkish social media platform Next Sosyal.

Guler hosted Syrian Defense Minister Murhef Abu Kasra, Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, and Intelligence chief Hussein Al-Salame, who were on an official visit to Türkiye, at the ministry headquarters.

The talks focused on bilateral and regional defense and security issues.

Guler and Abu Kasra also signed a memorandum of understanding on joint training and consultancy.
