Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Elon Musk hold video call

ANKARA, TURKEY

According to the statement made by Turkey’s Communications Department, during the meeting, issues related to cooperation between public and private sector institutions in Turkey and the company in different fields, especially satellite and space technologies, were discussed. In the meeting, autonomous electric vehicles and digital economy issues were also discussed, and long-term investments and steps to improve existing cooperation were evaluated.

During the meeting, joint steps that can be taken regarding the lithium batteries of Turkey’s domestic electric vehicle TOGG were also discussed.

At the videoconference, the process of launching the TURKSAT 5-B satellite into space, following the TURKSAT 5-A satellite launched by Turkey in January through SpaceX, was also discussed. During the meeting, President Erdogan also drew attention to other works carried out by Turkey within the scope of the National Space Program.
