Spain maintained their perfect start to the UEFA Nations League with a 3-1 victory against Czechia on Saturday.
Lamine Yamal, Rodri and Mikel Merino were on target as La Roja secured their third consecutive victory in their League A Group 3 Matchday 3 clash in Oviedo.
Yamal opened the scoring in the sixth minute, receiving the ball on the right edge of the penalty area before creating space and curling a left-footed effort beyond Antonin Kinsky into the top-left corner.
Spain doubled their advantage in the 35th minute after Czechia failed to clear their lines. Dani Olmo drove into the right side of the penalty area before his deflected ball fell to Rodri, who poked home to make it 2-0.
The hosts took their two-goal advantage into halftime, but Czechia pulled one back in the 69th minute.
Adam Hlozek played Jiri Slama into the penalty area, and the Czech left-back fired a powerful effort across David Raya and into the bottom-right corner.
Czechia thought they equalized in the 79th minute when Resat Naderi tapped in after Raya spilled the ball, but the goal was ruled out for a foul on Robin Le Normand.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 85th minute when captain Ladislav Krejci received his second yellow card for a foul on Roberto Fernandez.
Merino sealed the victory four minutes later, firing home a rebound after Kinsky denied Victor Munoz.
The victory moved the Group 3 leaders to nine points in three matches. Czechia remained without a point after three consecutive defeats.
England sit second with six points following their 7-0 victory against Croatia, while Croatia have three points.
